How to get into the Bible

This power point presentation covers some of our best visual ideas which appear also in the Handy Pack of Visuals. They are intended to help people get into the Bible by showing it in overview. People are put off reading because of the size of the Bible not realising it is a Library and many of the books are not in historical order. The are lost in finding their way around so we show on their hand and with hand actions and exercises the Book order and themes. The Gospels can be understood with hand actions as well as all the OT books. Acts is illustrated by the Holy Spirit coming down Jesus going up in Ascension and disciples going out. We have based our overview approach on the ideas of Graham Scroggie "Unfolding drama of Redemption" but put into visuals, and Uncle Harding Wood's book "Enjoy your Bible". Others have copied this idea and teach the Bible with hand actions but instead we use a visual way of remembering each book rather than events. We have a tube line like the underground to show chronology in an understandable form and two fun stories to remember the Minor Prophets and Epistles.
